Greatness is an outcome of Daily Growth Habits.

Craft Mastery is the journey to be the world's best in our domain — not for personal ambition, but for being of service to our people, our customers and our industry.

Each stage of the Craft Mastery journey has a daily growth habit to support us to strengthen ourselves in that stage and get us ready for the next stage. It is the daily practice of these habits — small, consistent, compounding — that progresses us from good to great.

Here is the Key Growth Question and the Daily Growth Habit for each stage of the Craft Mastery journey:

Stage 1: Passive Learning — Reading the works of the masters in our field.
Key Growth Question: What do I now understand that I hadn't considered before?
Daily Growth Habit: Daily Reading — reading the works of the masters in our field.

Stage 2: Active Learning — Implementing what we read, from Being of Service consciousness, to make a bigger difference to our people and our customers.
Key Growth Question: What is the one small improvement I can make today, from my reading, to make a bigger difference to our people and our customers?
Daily Growth Habit: Daily 2-Second Improvement — applying one small improvement from our reading each day. Just as reading compounds like interest, these small, consistent improvements — the way Lean teaches continuous improvement — compound into a massive difference over time.

Stage 3: Immersive Learning — Learning directly through apprenticeship from a master of our craft.
Key Growth Question: What can I up-level in my craft to make a bigger difference to our people and our customers?
Daily Growth Habit: Daily Practice — deliberately practising our craft daily and up-levelling it through immersion and feedback.

Stage 4: Transformative Learning — Coaching others to become Experts in our domain. We transform as we transform others.
Key Growth Question: What is the one question I can answer today that would most contribute to our people and our customers?
Daily Growth Habit: Daily Writing (Articles) — writing daily to create articles answering the questions that would most serve our people and our customers.

Stage 5: Generative Learning — Coaching Experts to become Mentors in our domain.
Key Growth Question: How can I give all that I have learnt to others in service of their good-to-great journey?
Daily Growth Habit: Daily Writing (Books) — writing daily to create books that generate new knowledge, becoming the source of our domain.

Let's keep learning, implementing and making a massive difference to joyously lead ourselves, our health, our kids, our relationships, our team members and our businesses from good to great, realize our dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure together along the way.

Loving you,
j.
