​Prioritisation vs Integrity

There are 2 types of Prioritisation:

1. Prioritisation based on Impact
i. This is identified during Reflection Time on paper or screen.
ii. This engages System 2 Thinking or Slow Thinking sourced in Thrival Love Consciousness through scheduled Sacred Pauses during the day / week / month / quarter / year for deep reflection.
iii. This engages both rational, logical and intuitive parts of the brain.
iv. This creates long-term thinking.
v. This results in planning and scheduling based on our Intentions and Dreams.
vi. This supports us to be in Integrity. 
vii. This is the secret super power of Super Performers and supports them to tap into the untapped limitless power of the mind.

2. Prioritisation based on what will create less loss for me or what will create more gain for me
i. This is done on the fly and is done in the head.
ii. This engages System 1 Thinking / Fast Thinking / Instinctive Thinking sourced in Survival Fear Consciousness.
iii. This creates short-term thinking.
iv. This makes us believe our Word is not important and we struggle with Integrity. 
v. This is used by High Performers as an excuse for not honouring their word to themselves, and to people in their life at work and at home.

Breaking our word to our own self or to some one else because of prioritisation based on what will create less loss for me or what will create more gain for me reduces trust in our own self when we break our word to our own self or reduces trust in a relationship with another when we break our word to them. Both reduces our Power to Create reality in alignment with our intentions and dreams.

Physical stress strengthens the physical body. That is why, we stress the physical body through gymming and other fitness formats.

Stress also strengthens the energy, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

The intention of this kind of Stress is Growth and is sourced in Whole Soul and Big Mind. Let's call this - Growth Stress.

This is different from the default Stress originating from the Hole-in-the-Soul and small mind. Let's call this - Decay Stress

Doing Reflection growth-stresses the mental body and therefore, strengthens it and strengthens it's ability to do System 2 Thinking.

Why go in Search of Discomfort Zones?

Someone asked me what is a Comfort Zone. 

Here’s a point on the Ball of Perspective:

Being in a Comfort Zone means we are not growing because growth lies outside our comfort zone.

Why does Growth lie outside the Comfort Zone? 

It is because our fears lie outside our comfort zone, which show up as resistances. Our f
ears are our only barrier to growth. 

Our work is to maximise our growth and realize our limitless potential. The way to do that is to dissolve all our fears lying hidden in our conscious, sub-conscious and unconscious mind. Therefore, our work as peaceful warriors is to go on a journey in search of fears with the torchlight of awareness so that we can dissolve all our fears with our loving embrace.

Our fears become visible to us outside our comfort zone. That is why growth lies outside our comfort zone.

We are in our Comfort Zone when:

1. We have the same complaints and problems week on week.

2. We have no problems or challenges.

3. We aren’t learning something new.

4. We aren’t seeing something we hadn’t seen before.

5. We aren’t understanding something that we hadn’t understood before.

6. We are not experiencing the struggles of being a beginner in something.

7. We don’t experience fear from time to time.

8. We don’t lose our confidence and belief from time to time.

9. Everything is working well. Life is good. The boat of our life is sailing smoothly.

10. There is no experience of growth. 

11. We are uncomfortable the same way, week on week. 

Nature is super smart. She put our experience of Happiness and Fulfilment as an outcome of our growth; and put our growth outside our comfort zone.


Why don't we want to step outside our comfort zones?

We don't want to step outside our comfort zone because comfort zones are our safety zones. Outside the comfort zone is unsafe. It boils down to our evolutionary process of Survival of the Fittest that has trained our mind over millions of years to choose safety over growth and happiness.

Our Fear Consciousness mind has evolved us as a species to a good place. If we now want to progress ahead in our evolutionary journey from good to great, our default fear-sourced mind needs to be retrained. If we can be the master of our mind instead of being its slave, we can use its immense power to dissolve all fears from the depths of our mind for us to live from the light of our undeniable greatness, expressed in the form of massive positive impact that we would then be able to create.

The way to master our mind is to weave into our lives ways to continuously step outside our comfort zones. There are 3 ways we can make that happen.

1. Using Life to step outside our comfort zones by being a Yes to Life.

2. Create life situations to create discomfort zones.

3. Make your intentions reality-defying and dreams unimaginable, impossible, crazy-big. This will demand actions outside our comfort zone. Take those actions to chose discomfort zones.


Here are examples from my life to make the above 3 ways real so that you can actively create your life to be in your discomfort zones to choose growth, impact and happiness.



1. Using Life to step outside our comfort zones by being a Yes to Life

Our 16 year old son wanted to attend the Guns n Roses concert in Mumbai. I am not a concert person. I am more hide-behind-the-book person and my comfort zone is my den from where I step into the Zoom Room. Not only our son wants to attend the concert, he also wants to have a train experience on the way to Mumbai to build the vibe. 

Guns n Roses is hard rock which I have hated listening to while growing up. I am more a country music, soft gentle music kind of a person, who now enjoys more old hindi songs and bhajans with every passing year.

I enthusiastically said Yes to Life and I grew massively as an outcome of that. Aditya, me, Shivenn and our nephew boarded the train, which is when it dawned on me that trains take longer to reach their destination than planes and that I would need to take a deep-dive perched up on the top berth of our bogey. I also had to submit my weekly assignment for the online MIT AI program I am doing by Sunday 8:30 am after being up most of the night rocking and rolling at the concert. The hotel that Aditya had chosen for us to stay wasn't the kind I would have chosen. Continuous stepping up to Gear 3 consciousness through the entire time created such a magical fun experience for all of us.

​We were waiting in the hot sun from 3:00 pm to enter the concert ground to get a good place though the concert was to start at 6:45 pm.

​To make it fun, I sang loudly - We shall Overcome and our National Anthem - much to the embarrassment of my son and nephew but they soon joined in along with some brave souls from the waiting crowd. My husband caught us candid on his mobile camera, giving me an opportunity to share the story.

In my experience, if you do whatever you do from your heart and soul, people sooner or later join in, however much they have laughed at you in the beginning. It requires one to be at least in Gear 3 Consciousness to play like this where one is an Empty Space with no limiting thoughts about self, about others and of Life itself. Only when there are no limiting thoughts, only then can one be spontaneous and be a Yes to Life. One keeps falling off from the ease and grace of Gear 3, but the practise of getting back to Gear 3 consciousness every time one experiences a fall is what strengthens us in Gear 3 Consciousness. Life is a beautiful training ground for this muscle-building.
Our son and nephew finally get into the flow with our national anthem. When we used to go for movies when our kids were younger, both the kids would hide when I would sing our national anthem loudly and mostly out of tune, with all my heart and soul, before the start of every movie we watched in the theatres. 

Spontaneity and Creativity are Gear 3 distinctions. Higher the anxiety because of limiting thoughts, lower the spontaneity. Lower the spontaneity, lower the creativity. 

The game is to practise Spontaneity in Life to strengthen ourselves in Gear 3 Consciousness. To act crazy in a crowd requires one to give one's power of massive belief to - I am extraordinary and I love myself (Gear 1 Consciousness). You are extraordinary and I love you (Gear 2 Consciousness). I trust the process of Life. I trust the Universe. The Universe is gifting me my highest good, moment to moment. I am making a difference. I am a channel of massive positive impact (Gear 3 Consciousness).

Nearly 9 years ago, I read a book by Rich Litvin and immediately decided that he was going to be my coach. Finally I found myself in a call with him, he told me to do crazy, ridiculous, silly things and report back to him on what I did before we explored our way forward. I had mortal fear of roller coasters. I did all the roller coasters while on a holiday with family in UAE. I rolled down the sand-dune as my young kids looked at their crazy mother with incredulous amazement. And, lot of other crazy, silly, ridiculous stuff that I can't remember now which freed me from my own significance giving me freedom to take risks to create what was not possible before. Rich did take me on as his coachee and I joined a group of 7 other coaches from US, Europe, UK and South America. The program with him shifted my business model to pave the path to where our business is today. I birthed Centre for Transformational Leadership in Dec 2016 and hibernated the earlier business model.

I understood why Sara Blakely, at that time the youngest woman billionaire, would dance in an elevator full of people. She said she did it to be free of embarrassment because that was the biggest barrier to growth.

2. Create life situations to create Discomfort Zones
​
A life of Massive Growth to realize our Highest Potential and create Massive Positive Impact in the world is all about mastering Fear. Fear is an absence of Love. There are 2 types of Fear - one in the Body and one in the Mind. Honour Fear that shows up in your Body because Wisdom is in the Body.

Master Fear in the Mind by:
a. Doing what you fear (fears of the mind)
b. Doing what you have an aversion for
c. Doing what you resist
d. Doing what you hate
e. Doing what you don't want to do
f. Dropping what you crave for
g. Doing what you are embarrassed about

All the above are ways to create life situations to choose discomfort zones.

It is important to distinguish between the voice of the hole in the soul (ego) and the voice of the whole soul (Inner Wisdom) because many times the voice of the hole in the soul will masquerade as the Inner Wisdom. Therefore, it is important to play the game to master Fear in the holding of our space by our coach because our coach can see what we can't see about ourselves and is our Truth Teller, Mirror Shower, Blindspot Revealer.

I used the Mumbai Guns n Roses trip also to explore possible venues for our August Community EXPAND Event. The last venue was scheduled on the way to the Airport on our way back home on Sunday after our adventure. By chance, Aditya checked the time of the flight and exclaimed - 'The flight departure is at 3:45 pm and not at 5:00 pm, which was our assumption all along. We will have to go directly to the airport instead of the hotel where we had planned to have lunch as well.'

I observed a myriad of emotions in me - anger, upset, blame, worry, irritation. I call the Airline to check if I can reschedule my flight to later in the night for me to meet the hotel's sales manager and review the venue. I am told it can't be done. I tell Aditya I will stay back and book myself in a later flight. Above the noise of my emotions, I hear him say - 'Do the meeting over Zoom. Why do you need to meet in person? Why don't you go back today and come back on another day? I will also come with you.' His voice and ideas further intensify my emotions.

I go quiet and pause to process my emotions - I see that I am not experiencing Aditya as whole, complete and perfect in that moment. I also see that I am not experiencing the situation, Life itself, as not whole, complete and perfect in that moment. I see that in that moment - I am not trusting the Universe. I am not trusting the process of Life. I am not experiencing that the Universe is gifting me my highest good, moment to moment.

As I see this, I make the choice - I trust the process of Life. The Universe is gifting me my Highest Good, moment to moment. This situation is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now. Aditya is whole, complete and perfect as he is right now. I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now.

In the peace that this gives me in my heart, mind and soul, I call up the hotel's sales manager and acknowledge that I have messed up the schedule making a wrong assumption about the flight time. He graciously accepts my request to reschedule on a mutually convenient date.

I go home with my family to spend the Sunday with them. Aditya says this getaway would give us a chance to re-initiate our promise to each other to go on monthly get-aways by ourselves, without the kids.

On the way to board the flight, I feel unloved and uncared for because Aditya is hurrying me up and I don't get a chance to pack my vegan lunch before we board. I had missed my morning juice which is my breakfast as I was busy studying and submitting my assignment for the MIT AI program I am doing. Therefore, I am looking forward to eating a sumptuous, delicious vegan lunch at the hotel, which we end up not going to. On the flight, I wouldn't get vegan food. I observe a tumult of emotions in response to my Hole in the Soul that woke up again. In the observation of my emotions, I found my Space of Grace to access my Power to Choose - 'Life is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now. Aditya is whole, complete and perfect as he is right now. I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now.'

In the peace that this gave me in my heart, mind and soul, I made the right decision of water-only fasting on that Sunday because anyway the whole day, I only had water; instead of next day. Monday is my weekly water-only fasting day. By switching, I would be eating healthy, delicious, fresh plant-based food made by my vegan-food trained cook. As part of her craft mastery, I had her trained with a chef as well. Nobody makes more delicious food than her. 

Where ever we go, we carry our consciousness with us. Our consciousness is not a function of other people and of life. It is a function of who we are Being - Fear or Love - in response to Life. Once we access our Power to Choose a higher consciousness state in response to life situations, it becomes available to us in other situations. 

In our weekly Strategy Execution meeting today, I fell from grace and felt anger, worry and irritation arising seeing a leadership team member break our shared Values. In that instant, I lost my power to be of service to her and broke our shared Values. Because I had done it before in another situation, I recreated myself to go to Gear 4 Consciousness in-event: Life is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now. She is whole, complete and perfect as she is right now. I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now.

In the peace that this gives me in my heart, mind and soul, I coach her for her to find her way back home to her authentic self of Love to embrace discomfort.

When we choose discomfort; we choose growth, positive impact and happiness.

When we embrace discomfort; we embrace growth, positive impact and happiness.

​When we welcome discomfort; we welcome growth, positive impact and happiness.

Here we are, Aditya and me, waiting for the concert to start, wearing Guns n Roses bandanas, to get into the vibe. That's not my vibe but I do it anyway to joyously flow along with Life.

Through this trip, I drop 'Significance' that I had picked up along the way of being the coach and feel light and free, ready to create bigger and better than ever before; trusting the Universe even more than ever before, feeling more ease and grace than ever before by making the choice of Gear 4 Consciousness (I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now. You are whole, complete and perfect as you are right now. Life is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now.) in-event, in the face of no agreement from Life.

Actively creating life situations to throw ourselves out of our comfort zones and choosing discomfort is what progresses us on our good to great journey with greater velocity.

Here are some examples how I threw myself out of my comfort zone by creating life situations:

a. Doing what you fear (fears of the mind) - I had fear of flying. I travelled to 4 countries in a year and embraced my fear to experience it dissolving; and feeling lighter and free.

b. Doing what you have an aversion for - I am finicky about cleanliness and have an aversion for dirt. We were in an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. My default is to keep a safe distance from elephants romping in dirty water. I stepped into the dirtiest pond ever to bathe them, and they thanked me by throwing muddy water on me with their trunk. I even hugged a big dirty elephant. I came away lighter having dropped an aversion behind. 

c. Doing what you resist - I resist listening to my husband's advise on what I should do and what I should not. It always landed on me as criticism. I am practising giving my committed listening to him, the kind of listening I bring to my coachees. My quality of listening has become better as an outcome of that and that has improved my coaching effectiveness.

d. Doing what you hate - I have Thalassemia Minor, meaning I am genetically anaemic and tire easily. I hate my Karate classes because I feel exhausted. That's why I do Karate classes twice a week. I hate the exhaustion during the class but the surge of energy that I experience after every class for having gone beyond what my mind did not want me to do.

e. Doing what you don't want to do - Household chores. I have taken on de-cluttering and cleaning for 15 minutes daily as a growth habit.

f. Dropping what you crave for - Removing sugar and processed food from my diet.

g. Doing what you are embarrassed about - I lost my 2 lower front teeth. I got a flipper because I didn't want an implant inserted surgically. I got a blister which hurt when I put on a flipper. I realized I was embarrassed about showing up for deep-dives with missing teeth. As soon as that awareness emerged, I sat through all my deep-dives without my flipper.

​h. Doing what you are uncomfortable about - Hosting an event is outside of my comfort zone. I would rather coach than host events. I know an in-person event with Verne Harnish would contribute because it would take the scaling-up implementation deeper into the businesses that we coach, progressing them on their good to great journey with greater ease, grace and velocity. So, I swallowed my discomfort and worked through my sacred pause to make the event happen, investing at a level that is hugely outside my comfort zone. Writing articles is my comfort zone, writing a book is outside my comfort zone. So, I have taken on putting the first one out because I do not get weekly coaching immersions with my mentees and leadership teams of my coachees; both of whom I meet only once a month. In order to support them progress on their good to great journey, a book would be a useful tool.

3. Make your intentions reality-defying and dreams unimaginable, impossible, crazy-big. This will demand actions outside our comfort zone. Take those actions to chose discomfort zones.

More reality-defying our intentions, more crazy-big impossible unimaginable our dreams, greater growth we have gifted ourselves. Since growth lies outside our comfort zones, our intentions and dreams push us outside our comfort zone. 

What could be crazier than dreaming to nurture great businesses from our land enabling our country to be the world's most developed, beautiful and greenest nation. Not just great but nurturing 60% of world's Fortune 100, Fortune 500, Forbes Global 2000 from our land. Believe it Till you Create it is what I live by. And, this dream has moved me from the comfort of being a solopreneur to taking on building a community of world's best CEO Coaches, from the comfort of the Zoom room to the rawness of in-person deep-dive immersions, from the comfort of judiciously managing expenses to the discomfort of over-investing in a Business Excellence thought leader without knowing if our community will welcome the learning opportunity for them and their leaders, from the comfort of learning online to the discomfort of flying across oceans to learn from world's best teachers in-person, from the comfort of being a mentor to taking on creating a community of world's best thought leaders to support us on our journey to fulfil on our big hairy audacious goal. 

​May we all be in our uncomfortable zones, different by the week, for life to joyously lead ourselves and our businesses from good to great, realize our impossible unimaginable crazy-big dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way 💜

Equanimity in the Face of Chaos

Equanimity in the face of chaos in the world outside is the source of highest level of productivity, effectiveness and massive positive impact.

We first access Equanimity in Gear 3 consciousness, trusting the process of life, trusting the Universe with childlike trust and faith.

In Gear 4, we access a deeper level of Equanimity when we begin to relate to our own self, people around us and life itself as whole, complete and perfect as we are right now, as other people are right now, as life is right now.

In Gear 5, we access Equanimity in it’s highest expression when we love, accept and revere ourselves as we are right now, people around us as they are right now and life itself as it is right now.

Equanimity in Gear 3 Concsiosuness is at the level of the mind. The Mind understands and accepts the truth that Life is extraordinary; and gives us the permission to see the extraordinary in Life in the midst of the good, the ugly and the bad; and to love the extraordinary in Life. The Mind trusts the process of Life; and develops childlike trust and faith in the Universe. The Mind gives its Power of Belief to - The Universe is gifting me my highest good, moment by moment; I am making a difference; I am a channel of massive positive impact. That gives the Mind peace. Irrespective of the chaos in the Heart, the Mind is able to respond with Equanimity to the chaos on the outside. The Mind develops Reverence, Humility and Courage, Authenticity and Vulnerability, Spontaneity and Creativity, Ease and Grace, an experience of Fun and Adventure on the Good to Great evolutionary journey - the inner resources which further strengthen with every subsequent Consciousness Gear.

Equanimity in Gear 4 Consciousness is at the level of the heart. The Heart experiences the truth that I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now. The Heart experiences the truth that People are whole, complete and perfect as they are right now. The Heart experiences the truth that Life is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now. In that experience, I become my word with ease and grace. With that, a deep unconditional, unshakeable belief in my own self and belief in people around me emerges of its own accord.

Equanimity in Gear 5 Consciousness is at the level of the soul. At this Gear, we have dissolved fears to be our true self, our whole soul, the deepest and the purest part of us, our Love Consciousness, the part that is connected to the Universal Consciousness. There is an Inner Knowing, an Inner Beingness of I accept, revere and love myself as I am right now; I accept, revere and love people as they are right now; I accept, revere and love Life as it is right now.

In that acceptance, reverence and love for self as we are right now; for all beings as they are right now and for life itself as it is right now; Joy emerges along with an exquisite experience of the lightness of Being, of Freedom, of Limitlessness, of Power to Create in all its wondrous magnificence and creative infiniteness, of Abundance of everything, with Have It All in full expression with ease and grace, in divine and blissful partnership with the Universe.

How do we get there?

One step at a time - through Growth Habits and Transformative Practices on the Leadership Depth journey. This journey deepens, strengthens and accelerates as we express our Leadership Depth through Craft Mastery and through making a massive positive impact on the playground of Business Excellence. Without Craft Mastery and Business Excellence, Leadership Depth remains an empty concept - difficult to grasp and even harder to sustain.

Smile to Heal the World and Yourself, along the Way

​I had taken my 80 years young dad to the hospital for a review of his recent knee surgery to the hospital. Healing is accelerated if there's a smile on the face. Yet, in the hallowed place of healing, I saw straight faces all around me. 

One of my 15 years old personal practises has been to look straight in the eye of the strangers I am passing by and smile with my heart. I have experienced the joy of seeing a beggar lady's toothless smile transform her wrinkled face, probably ugly from the perspective of aesthetics, into a beautiful radiant face. I have experienced the joy of seeing a man's face scarred with life blossom into a handsome face as he smiled back from his heart. It's a heartwarming experience to see people transforming into beautiful beings as they smile back.

At the hospital, as I smiled, I received the gift of heart-warming smiles from people waiting to meet the doctor, nurses busily rushing around, doctors walking by, the wheel-chair pushers and all those whose paths crossed mine. 

Yet, I could have been sombre, sad, helpless and angry. I went to that place yesterday when I went to meet my father and found that he had fallen in the bathroom the night before in the middle of the night. He could not get up and had to drag himself to the bed, and pull himself up to his bed. As I heard it, for many long minutes, I fell from grace - experiencing anger at my sister who is staying in the same house as him for not ensuring his safety and blaming her, anger at my dad for insisting he did not need an attendant and letting go of his 24 / 7 attendant 10 days back, deeply saddened at feeling his pain, guilty and ashamed for not taking good enough care of him by not having him agree to an attendant and simply giving in to him not wanting an attendant, upset at life and struggling with it at the thought of having to reschedule a deep-dive to take him to the doctor for an emergency review. 

Then, I shook myself as I saw despair on my dad's face, and worry and concern on my mom's face; and found my way back to my space of grace - I am whole, complete and perfect as I am right now. My sister, my father, my mother, his earlier attendant are whole, complete and perfect as they are right now. Life is whole, complete and perfect as it is right now. And, I gave a big toothy smile to my dad and boomed cheerfully to him - All is well, Dad. My dad smiled back as the helplessness on his face dissolved and said - Yes, All is well. The tension eased on my mother's face as her body communicated - All is well. Thank you, God.

The energy of the smile is different in Gear 0, Gear 1, Gear 2, Gear 3, Gear 4 and Gear 5. It is the Gear 5 Smile which has the maximum power to heal and transform, which reaches out from our body, energy, heart, mind and soul to their body, energy, heart, mind and soul.

I read a book by Nirad C Chaudhari some 30 plus years ago - An Autobiography of an Unknown Indian. In it, he observes how people on the streets of north India have a frown on their faces. As per him, it wasn't just the poor who had this expression. Even richer Indians often carried the same frown. It wasn't only about poverty, but about a historical memory of failure, frustration, and helplessness built into the culture. Comfort could soften the harshness, but could not erase the deeper imprint.

Whether it is in banks or markets or offices, I don't see people smiling at each other. 

It's always a tiny thing that triggers a transformation. Gandhiji thrown off a train became a pivotal moment leading to India's independence. Rosa Parks, a black woman, refusing to give her seat to a white man in a segregated bus triggered the modern Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Painting over graffiti led to the reduction in crime in the New York City Subway.

Maybe, that tiny thing is a Smile sourced in Love Consciousness.

How about smiling, from least Gear 3 consciousness, at everyone who shows up in your space?

Why Gear 3? In early years of my practise of smiling, I had a man follow me to ask for help because at that point in time, my fear consciousness was so much higher. After that, I did not have the courage of smiling at men. So, I practised smiling at men when I was travelling abroad till I dissolved my fear of unknown men. That is why probably, I started coaching women first till one day, my then toddler son asked me why don't I coach boys. At that time, I didn't have the understanding that I have now.

My daughter, many years ago, once asked me why I centrally lock the car as soon as begging eunuchs came closer to the car at traffic lights. In that instant I saw how I was not being Love. I was completely unaware of my Being till my daughter asked me an innocent question. What you are aware of, transforms. 

J. Krishnamurti beautifully expressed this principle - If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation.

In that instant of my awareness of not being Love, I decided to look straight in the eyes of the beggar eunuchs, and smile from my heart and soul. I have been blessed with beautiful smiles radiating from their faces to me ever since. They ask for money, I offer them glucose biscuits if I haven't run out of them, they graciously receive the packet of biscuits from me with a smile.

Dear RYD Circle Of Love,

I want to share a recent breakthrough I had, where I discovered accessing my Power to Create to generate my reality.

On Sunday, I told Jyoti that I will be unable to attend the Expand Event post 8 am, as I had a school meeting which just got announced and was mandatory to attend. 

Jyoti told me either I attend fully or else, see the recording. I felt extremely sad and little frustrated as I felt it was unfair to miss 2.5 hours for just 23 mins. When I reached out to her, she asked me to join in a call where I had a big moment of realisation that I was creating my reality sub-consciously. 

At first, it sounded absurd till she made me realise that the last 5 Expand Events I had struggled to attend because it had always clashed with some child-related event. I identified a pattern that was - If I progress in my professional journey, I will do disservice to my kids and family - and somewhere that was holding me back from moving ahead at a very deep sub-conscious level. I thought I Have it All, but I did not.

Post this, she asked me to create my new reality by doing work on small mind and big mind, and we set a new intention which was to be available for the school meeting and attend the Expand Event fully. It was very hard but I finally gave my full power of belief to it. She said we would connect next morning.

15 minutes before my call with Jyoti and Vimla, I got an email from school that the meeting had moved to 8:15 am. I went from getting spooked out to gratitude for this new super power I had gained. But wait, I had still 8 minutes to figure for which I thought I’ll convince Jyoti. On the call, she told me that I need to give my intention more power of belief - to fully attend both my daughter's school meeting and attend the Expand Event. I left the call feeling that it was too much to ask the Universe for, but I said - No harm. Let's experiment. 

Yesterday morning before the Expand Event, I decided I'll miss 8 minutes of the school meeting while still trying to stay strong in my power of belief. I reached the school at 8:15 am while still being on the Expand Event zoom call. I noticed through the glass doors that the meeting hadn’t commenced. I stayed outside and at 8:22 am, the teachers asked the parents to get seated. At 8:23 am after fully attending the Expand Event, I logged out of the call and sat just in time for the first slide of my daughters exhibition meeting.

What I learnt ?

We all have SUPERPOWERS. What I did not have was the courage to BELIEVE.

I am grateful to Jyoti and Vimla for this breakthrough which has me create a massive shift in every minute I’ve lived in the last 3 days.

This does not mean you have to blindly follow. We are creating powerful leaders, not followers.

What it means is you play the RYD Good to Great game like a scientist. Consider everything in the RYD Gym as a hypothesis. Have a socratic discussion with your coach to intellectually understand the hypothesis. Then, co-create an experiment to test the hypothesis. Run the experiment, with your heart believing the hypothesis for the period of the experiment through Willing Suspension of Disbelief; and based on the results of your experiment, understand your Truth. That is when you will experience the Inner Knowing of that Truth, which is when that Truth is yours to live from. Not before.

Let only your Truth, your Inner Wisdom guide you forward. Though you have to play the game full-out to get there.

That is how Ankita played to get to a visceral experience of her Power to Create. Having experienced it, she is in the next orbit of her Good to Great journey.

Irrespective of external circumstances, get coaching from your coach to attend all your deep-dives, monthly EXPAND events, do all your preworks, postworks, read your book of the month, play the games, read the messages in the various RYD groups, article of the day, do your growth habits, transformative practises offered to you because what prevents you from attending a deep-dive or doing any of the above is what is also your barrier on your good to great journey. Understanding that barrier is key to dissolving it.

Ankita discovered that her biggest barrier on her Good to Great journey was her belief - *If I progress in my professional journey. I will do disservice to my kids and family*

This belief is not even her own but it was living her life for her. The belief is sourced in her being a woman. She inherited that belief, as we all do.

We are only conscious of 5% of our limiting beliefs. It's when we play the RYD game with integrity and commitment that these limiting beliefs will emerge from under the conscious mind from the sub-conscious and the unconscious minds.

The intention of the RYD Gear 1 Growth Habit of Article of the Day is to create a Daily Sacred Pause to re-align your energy to your Purpose, your Spiritual Values, your reality-defying intentions and impossible, unimaginable, crazy-big dreams; strengthening your Gear 5 Love Consciousness.

Here's how the game of Article of the Day is played. Read the daily article and share your answers to the below questions:
1. What is my emotional state as an outcome of reading the article? 
2. What is One Insight from the article that made the biggest difference to me?
3. What is One Question as an outcome of reading the article, the inquiry of which would most contribute to me to progress on my good to great journey.


Why Emotional State? To create a moment of self-awareness during the day and interrupt the Default Flow of the day for you to become more intentional and make a bigger difference through what you think, what you say and what you do.
Why One Insight? To train your brain through Agility of Mind Gear 1 consciousness to absorb information, integrate and identify a point on the Ball of Perspective that gives you access to your Power to Create.
Why One Question? To train your brain through Being of Service Gear 2 consciousness to identify a Question the answer to which would most make a difference and train your brain through Communicating Powerfully in the World of Others Gear 3 Consciousness to think in Questions and Lead with Questions.

You will get most value from playing the game when you read one Article a day, instead of batching many articles together to read in a day.

Different articles are posted for different Tribes based on the tribe's evolution on the Good to Great journey. One article is posted a day Monday to Friday for articles missed during the week to be read in the weekend.

There are 3 levels at which you can play the game:
1. Mastery Level: Read the article on the day it is posted for and share your responses to the 3 questions on the same day.

If you are feeling an emotion from 6 to 22 on the emotional range, then it is the voice of your small mind masquerading as your Inner Wisdom. To have this awareness, you need at least two other RYD Gear 1 Growth Habits in your daily practise - Morning Pages stream of consciousness vomit-out journaling and Evening Structured Reflection.

i. Do you believe you can fulfil your intention? On a scale of 0 to 10, where are you at with respect to your belief. After seeing the Truth of where you are at, make the choice to step up to 10 on 10 with your heart, mind and soul..

ii. Do you believe people are supporting you to fulfil your intention? On a scale of 0 to 10, where are you at with respect to your belief. After seeing the Truth of where you are at, make the choice to step up to 10 on 10 with your heart, mind and soul..

iii. Do you believe the Universe is supporting you to fulfil your intention? After seeing the Truth of where you are at, make the choice to step up to 10 on 10 with your heart, mind and soul..


4. Open yourself to receive support from the Universe
i. Identify each one who will be touched or impacted by your Intention.
ii. Reflect deeply on what would most contribute to each one of them in context of your Intention.
iii. Go back to Step 1 to check if you are still operating from Gear 5 Consciousness.

All intentions are Partner Intentions. All dreams are Partner Dreams. (Gear 3 RYD Distinction)

Either intentions of all in an ecosystem would be fulfilled or no one would be able to fulfil their intention. Either dreams of all in an ecosystem would be fulfilled or no one would be able to fulfil their dreams. 

An intention is not an intention if it harms anyone or anything. A dream is not a dream if it harms anyone or anything. (Gear 3 RYD Distinction)

An intention or a dream can only be created in at least Gear 3. A powerful intention or a powerful dream which gets fulfilled on its own with ease and grace, can only be created in Gear 5.


5. Create your Structure of Success to fulfil on your updated Intention

i. Create a list of input actions to fulfil on the Intention and schedule the actions in your calendar.
ii. Use creative thinking for identifying 1FOR5 opportunities - 1 action that fulfils 5 intentions across different areas of our wheel of life.
iii. Use 20 / 80 Thinking to identify those 20% inputs actions that would give you 80% outcomes.
iv. Put timelines on the input actions
v. Schedule the input actions on your calendar


6. Take action as per your Structure of Success with Integrity.

Take actions by the time you said you would, in a way you meant to. (Gear 4 RYD Distinction)

7. Make a choice to be happy, fulfilled and grateful, irrespective of the outcome, by practising being Gear 5 consciousness through RYD Growth Habits and RYD Transformative Practices; in the face of whatever Reality gets created.

It's better to sweat in the training ground of RYD than struggle in the Olympics of Life. (Gear 1 RYD Distinction)

Step up to the next Spiral of Growth by going to Step 1) above and progressing to the next step, one step at a time to reach Step 5) to update the Structure of Success with learnings and insights from the first Spiral of Growth. Continue all the way to Step 7), which is when you are ready for the next Spiral of Growth.

It's not about - Fake it till you Make It.
It's about - Believe it till you Create it. (RYD Gear 3 Distinction)

All intentions are meant to be fulfilled. All dreams are meant to be realized. 

The above would be true for you only if you Believe it till you Create it, moving upwards endlessly through spirals of growth.

Intense Burning Desire for Growth is the Input for Difficulty and Struggle

We see those who cut-over to greatness having walked a path of difficulty and struggle. Therefore, we assume difficulty and struggle is an input for us to progress from good to great and realize our highest potential.

That has most of us lie comfortably in the hammock of mediocrity, lulled to unconsciousness by the familiar swing of life.

Actually, intense burning desire for growth is the input for difficulty and struggle.

Nature is smart and put Growth as an access to Happiness and Fulfilment because of which we consciously or unconsciously seek growth. Otherwise, nobody would want growth as that demands that we step outside our comfort zone of mediocrity into the zone of difficulty and struggle, only where is there any need for our undeniable greatness.

Growth is moving from Fear towards Love, from the Darkness of Fear to Light of Love within.

How do we dissolve Fear to move towards Love, if we can't see our fears? How do we dissolve the darkness within if we can't see the darkness within?

Difficulty and struggle push out the darkness of our fears into our awareness so that we can do the work to dissolve it with the shine of our inner light of love.

Therefore, embrace difficulty and struggle with grace and gratitude because they came along in response to our commitment and deep intense burning desire to progress on our good to great journey and realize our highest potential to have it all.

Difficulty and struggle will lead us to low energy emotions.

Rejoice when you experience low energy emotions because they are the way-showers to our Darkness, our shadow self, our fears. 

Celebrate when you uncover some part of your Darkness within, following the cues of your low energy emotions because now you have the opportunity to dissolve some bit of the Darkness of your fears which came to the surface and became visible.

We can dissolve Darkness of our fears with the light of our awareness and loving acceptance of what is.

In the loving acceptance of what is, we get the courage, grit and energy to take action to fulfil our reality-defying intentions and realize our impossible, unimaginable, crazy-big dreams.

Words and Actions are concretisers and maximisers. Words spoken and Actions taken from fear concretise, maximise and strengthen our fears. 

Words spoken and Actions taken from Love concretise, maximise and strengthen Love within. Love is the highest expression of what it means to be a human being.

Love doesn't come alone. Love has 4 doting friends. When Love grows and strengthens in us, these 4 friends grow and strengthen in us to the same degree:
1. Joy
2. Loving Kindness
3. Equanimity
​4. Abundance

The way to embrace difficulty and struggle with grace and gratitude is to respond to them, to our own self and to people around us during difficulty and struggle with loving acceptance; and take actions with equanimity in alignment with our 
reality-defying intentions and our impossible, unimaginable, crazy-big dreams from our whole soul and big mind. Doing this enables us to transform every difficulty and struggle to joyously fulfilling growth in our journey from good to great to realize our dreams and have it all.

Our conscious, subconscious and unconscious desire for growth creates difficulty and struggle for us to become aware of our fears so that we can dissolve them to step more and more into Love. Therefore, our difficulty and struggle are self-created because of our intense burning desire for growth.

Why is there an intense burning desire for growth? Because that is the design of life. 

We access Happiness and Fulfilment every time we experience growth in any area of our wheel of Life. That is Nature's way of incentivising us to play for maximising our growth and realising our highest potential to Have It All.

How do we know we are growing and realising our potential - by the quantum of positive impact we create through our work and through every other area of our wheel of life.

Difficulty and Struggle are our best friends because they are our structure of success to maximise our growth, realise our highest potential and progress on our good to great journey. 

It is when we respond to Difficulty and Struggle as a Helpless Victim, Distracted Disengaged Disconnected Avoider, Super Hero Martyr or a High Performing Fighter, we miss the opportunity of Growth and miss the opportunity to realise our highest potential, and be happy and fulfilled.

The darkness within is wicked smart like a naughty child and will give us infallible, irrefutable logic that will have us avoid taking the path of growth to dissolve it.

That is why it is important to have a Safe Space - a coach, a mentor, a guide - in whose non-judgmental, nurturing space we feel safe and whose wisdom we trust for us to investigate, explore and uncover our Darkness with authenticity, vulnerability and raw honesty to shine the light of our loving awareness for the darkness to dissolve for us to grow and progress on our good to great journey.

Talking to oneself through journaling is a good practise to develop awareness but it is not a replacement for talking one's thoughts in the committed, nurturing, non-judgmental listening of another. As a species, we could speak 70,000 years ago but we learnt to write only 5000 years ago. Therefore, our brain processes better and is able to see within deeper through spoken language in the committed listening of another because it has had more experience with speech.

Our body is even more ancient. The first humans walked earth 20,00,000 years ago. Therefore, processing through our body (somatic work like psychodrama) takes us deeper even further to darkness within that we feel but have no access to consciously understand or get to the root of it.

Keep going within like a peaceful warrior in search of Darkness to place it in the Operation Theatre of Deep Awareness, use the surgical tool of Raw Honesty to dissect it, use the healing power of Loving Acceptance to dissolve it and take action from your whole soul and big mind to joyously lead yourself and your business from good to great, realize your dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way 💜

Seeking to Understand

I had pain on the upper surface of my right foot for about 3 months. While walking the streets of London in September, I came back the first day with a swollen foot. I remembered the orthopaedic doctor's advise, who I had visited before my travel to take his inputs on how to heal the foot. He had said that my foot would be served better with me wearing sports shoes even more than the ballet flats I wore. He had given some foot exercises which I had done for a week. 

I managed the pain with wearing sports shoes. My mind reasoned that the foot had the time and space to heal by itself as I had taken a break from Karate, functional fitness and golf for 3 months on account of my extensive travel.

I re-started Karate 10 days back after a break of 3 months. Suddenly the foot pain came back into focus. The foot pain was there before but it hadn't come in the way of any of my intentions in the 3 months earlier, so I simply progressed from one day to the next without paying attention to the discomfort in my foot.

On restarting Karate, I realized I couldn't do jumping jacks because the foot hurt. I couldn't even do light jogging as part of the warm-up. Interestingly, I could do all the kicks, even the spinning kick. 

I began to notice that climbing up and down the staircase in our 2 floor apartment also caused discomfort. Till I came back home from my travels, there had been no reason to climb the stairs and therefore, I had missed to observe this.

My Karate teacher insisted that I see a physiotherapist. Last Wednesday, I was there in Dr Bela's clinic - young and beautiful at 80 years of age, still running her business full-time. I learnt through the appointment that suddenly stopping my active workout rhythm probably caused the stiffness and strain in the foot muscle. That connected some dots in my head because the Karate workout actually made my foot feel better though I could not do jumping jacks or jogging. Dr Bela lined up a physiotherapeutic treatment protocol for me and told me that the foot would be fully healed soon enough.

I wanted to take inputs from my Yoga mentor, teacher, therapist - Saras, who is also a part of our RYD Circle of Mentors - before I started any physiotherapy treatment because I believe Yoga is a way of personally taking responsibility for one's own health.

Because of my extensive travel from US to Varanasi to Mumbai to UK and her own travel schedule, I hadn't met her for 3 months though my intention and our agreement for our session rhythm is weekly.

I believe for the progress to happen on a Learning Expedition, meeting my teachers once a week is a minimum. That is why RYD is modelled on a weekly rhythm.

Last Thursday, a day after meeting the physiotherapist, I had a session with Saras. I told her about my interesting foot pain. She gave me a different way of doing a particular asana. 

In two days of my personalised yoga practise designed by her with her suggested modification of one asana, my foot pain has dissolved.

I share this with a deep sense of wonder and reverence for the wisdom of our ancient heritage and for my teacher. I danced through the night yesterday at a friend's 50th with gay abandon and no experience of pain. I just did 100 jumping jacks to re-validate that the pain is dissolved. Only 4 days ago, I could not get past 1 jumping jack because of the shooting pain I felt in my right foot as I jumped back to the ground.

I checked Louise Hay about my foot pain only in the last 2 weeks, which is interesting considering my over-emphasis on always checking the emotional reason for any physical discomfort; and using shifting of mental and emotional energy to aid the healing process.

Right side of the body - giving out, letting go, masculine energy, men, the father.
Foot Problems - Fear of the future and of not stepping forward in life.

I read this and smiled to myself because I saw how my relationship with my spouse was showing up in my body.

Exactly 10 days ago on 17-Oct, I had shared the below Insight in the RYD Book Club, generously and graciously led by Shreya from our Ashoka Tribe:

Insight from reading the Book so far that made the biggest difference to me:
I have judgements about my husband's parenting style. Since communication is non-verbal, my judgements are probably hurting my son's relationship with his dad, and hurting my son as an outcome of that.

Action that I will take to create Breakthrough Results: 
I will practise having my son experience my respect for his father and actively shine the light on my husband's positive qualities for my son, to support him to have a stronger relationship with his father.

I have a strong Decision and Action Bias, developed through years of practice. Once I see something through reflective self-inquiry aided by my teachers, I decide to act and I act; with no gap between these 3 stages of generating a new Reality. So, I have been actively shining the light on my husband's positive qualities in the listening of my son. Just saying it won't make a difference. I have to believe what I am saying and feel it, for what I am saying to be fully received because communication is 90% non-verbal.

I saw the immediate difference it made. My son was angry with my husband as we were driving home last week. I acknowledged my husband from my heart, mind and soul in the listening of my son. Within seconds, I saw my son move forward on his seat and wrap his arms around my husband while he was driving the car and my husband kiss his arms. I felt joyously fulfilled.

Later, I shared with my husband my observation how my shining the light on him had shifted Shivenn's emotional energy. I shared from the joy of my experience of observing a shift in Shivenn in response to the shift in my emotional, mental and spiritual body. My husband responded - Sure. Go ahead and take all the credit.

I smiled because I saw the Universe' support for me in all its splendour and glory to raise my consciousness to Gear 5 in our relationship because Gear 5 Leaders give away the credit for the good that happens and take responsibility for what is not working. If I can step up to Gear 5 Consciousness in my relationship with my husband, Gear 5 consciousness would permanently be available to me in every area of my life. Today, I experience higher levels of consciousness at work, which powers other areas of my life.

Over the last 9 months since the discovery of the 8 cm tumour in my stomach, I had massively stepped up the work on uncovering what was in my emotional body that was at the source and went on to work systematically to heal my emotional body through Psychodrama, Brandon Bay's Journey Within, Vipassana, Yoga Therapy and week-on-week work with my coach, Leon, to actively uncover and process my emotions with Raw Honesty.

As per Louise Hay, Tumour in the physical body is an expression of - Nursing old hurts and shocks. Building remorse. 

Thanks to all that inner work this year, I have developed enough emotional, mental and spiritual strength that I am able to now step-up to Gear 2 Consciousness (I am extraordinary. I love myself. You are extraordinary. I love you.) in my relationship with my spouse that gives me grace to shine the light on him from my mind, heart and soul; not just my words; which would have been the case as recent as June this year. 

I have had Strong Mothers, Strong Sons on my book shelf for many many years but the book called me to pick it up this year because I now have the mental, emotional and spiritual strength to take the action recommended by the author. 

The tumour is still there as it was 9 months ago, when I first discovered its presence in my life. I am deeply grateful for it's presence because of the massive healing work it has led me to. It's a friend, a guide to support me to become the greatest version of myself as I listen intently to the message of my soul through it. It will dissolve when I have fully received it's guidance, acted upon the guidance and learnt from it to make a bigger difference through my life - at work and at home.

I use Louise Hay to help me understand the clues that my body is giving me to create a more effective structure of success for my intention of being at the highest level of health, fitness and joyous well-being. Whatever she says for a particular physical symptom, I consider it as the Truth and go about diligently exploring how it could potentially be the Truth. I always find a path of healing and growth as an outcome of this process. I seek to understand, instead of disagree.

Seeking to Understand than Reacting to Disagree is a Gear 3 Distinction. If my teachers (through their books or in-person) say something or do something that doesn't logically fit into my head, I seek to understand than give in to my immediate default fear-consciousness response of - I don't agree with this. I have found that seeking to understand than reacting to disagree unearths a lot of growth diamonds for me which progress me on my Good to Great journey with greater ease, grace and velocity.

At the highest expression of who we are as human beings, each one in our space is our teacher. If we can bring the humility (which is a Gear 3 Value) of a student to all our relationships, we will step into Gear 3 consciousness where others experience us as extraordinary. Interestingly, in Gear 3, we no longer feel the need for the others to relate to us as extraordinary. And, yet, we receive that Grace only in Gear 3.

My current Transformative Practice is to practise the Gear 3 Distinction of Seeking to Understand than Reacting to Disagree through all my 5 bodies - physical, energy, emotional, mental and spiritual - in my relationship with my husband. It has taken me, probably, many life times of work to reach this Consciousness of being able to do that now.

Gary Zukav very beautifully says in his book - The Seat of the Soul - that before our soul is birthed as human this life-time, our soul reaches out to other souls that we want in our family system in our human existence and request them to behave with us in a certain way so that we can learn what we need to learn for our soul to grow and evolve to the next level of consciousness in this particular lifetime.

I believe I requested my husband's soul to fracture my arm in Oct 2019 and requested the Universe to leave me stranded all alone with every area of my wheel of life at 0 making me experience the full intensity of the anguished pain of my Hole in the Soul - I am all alone. No one loves me - so that I could actively work on filling it by practise being Love, Gratitude, Reverence, Integrity, Mastery, Joy, Loving Kindness, Equanimity, Abundance - my Spiritual Values, all expressions of my Whole Soul, while I was in the darkest, deepest dungeons of my despair. 

That's how the Whole Soul gets strengthened - when we can respond to our Hole in the Soul with our Spiritual Values, and act from the consciousness (awareness) of our Spiritual Values. I am not the same human being today as I was 5 years ago. I am deeply grateful and feel divinely blessed for the accelerated journey of growth over the last 5 years; even as I see a much longer journey of learning, growth and evolution ahead.

Raising our Consciousness all the way to Gear 5

First, the mind understands. This is the first spiral of growth from Gear 1 to Gear 5.

Then, the heart believes. This is the second spiral of growth from Gear 1 to Gear 5.

Finally, the soul knows. We dissolve all fears within to reach a place where we get in touch with the visceral experience of the Inner Knowing. This is the third spiral of growth from Gear 1 to Gear 5.

Gear 1 Consciousness

I forgive myself for hurting myself directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously, intentionally or unintentionally, in this lifetime and in all my lifetimes before.
I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.
I am extraordinary and I love myself.


Gear 2 Consciousness

I forgive all beings for hurting me directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously, intentionally or unintentionally, in this lifetime and in all my lifetimes before.

Gear 3 Consciousness
