What is Integrity?

1. Runa has gotten up really early to pack tiffins for her kids and husband since the cook decided to take leave today. She wakes up the kids and gets them ready for school. At the breakfast table, her younger one Ruma tells her that she needs to take craft material to school today for some school project.

Her irritation arose even further as her husband saunters along, reads his newspaper and eats breakfast at a leisurely pace that she hadn’t experienced for a long time. She controls her anger, hurriedly rummages the house for the craft material for Ruma utilising time that she has scheduled for herself to get ready for an important meeting with an irate customer who was threatening to walk out on a deal because of delivery issues on their side.

Finally, she is out of the house with kids packed up in the back seat of her car. She gives them a quick hug and drops them at school, racing from there to reach on time for her meeting. She is waiting silently from outside, though not from inside, at a rather long duration red-light.

She is really late and is hoping some miracle will have her be on time. Something does happen, not exactly a miracle though, a car behind her bangs into her as the speeding driver was unable to break hard enough to stop in time.

Fortunately, nobody is hurt. But, she really lost it. She gets out in rage and vents out at the lady driving the car, who also vents back at her. Finally, sense descends on her and she races to reach her meeting. She walks into her office with the customer sitting there waiting for her for the last 15 minutes. She is late inspite of getting up at 3:00 am in the morning.

What should she do?

What would be in Integrity and why?

2. There is an RYD Coaching Triad.
RYD Mentor - Arpit
RYD Coach - Sakshi
RYD Coachee - Khushi

Arpit gave an article to Sakshi to share with Khushi.

Sakshi's message to Khushi:
i. Here's an article for you to read.
ii. Here's an article from Arpit for you to read.

Which statement is in Integrity and why?

3. A month back, Dolly set-up a lunch date with her best buddy. Thay hadn’t met up for a long time and she really wanted the girl-time with her to nurture the relationship back to where it was when they were inseperable. Two days before the lunch-date, a customer who she had been following for a long-time for a large order suddenly calls up saying that he is in town and wants to meet her to finalise the order but the only time available is the same time she had set-up with her best buddy.

What should she do?

What would be in Integrity and why?

4. There is another RYD Coaching Triad.
RYD Mentor - Sharmila
RYD Coach - Rohit
RYD Coachee - Rahul

Sharmila coaches the CEO of the business, Sanjay. Rohit coaches Rahul who is on Sanjay's leadership team.

There is a strategy that Rahul has developed which Rohit reviews with Sharmila. Sharmila forwards to Sanjay for his perspective.

Rohit's message to Rahul:
i. I have shared the strategy with Sanjay for his perspective.
ii. We have shared the strategy with Sanjay for his perspective.
iii. Sharmila has shared the strategy with Sanjay for his perspective.

Which statement is in Integrity and why?

5. The CEO, Malini, has a meeting with her Chief of Staff, Palash, at 10:30 am.

She is in a call with her biggest client, Rajeev, at 9:00 am and it was scheduled to be a 1 hour meeting. But, the meeting extends.

At 10:00 am, what should she do? What would be in Integrity?

i. Take a 5 minute break from the client and message her Chief of Staff that she is getting delayed.
ii. Veer the conversation to closure and schedule another follow-up meeting so that she can attend her meeting with Palash.
iii. Continue her conversation with Rajeev. Palash will understand.

6. Ritvik's son's annual school performance is on Friday. He has promised his son a month back he will attend it, when the invite had been shared by the school. On Monday, he gets to know he has to attend an important meeting with his prospective client who could potentially cover his half target of the year.

What should he do?

What would be in Integrity and why?

7. Ruhani has an important meeting with a client scheduled since a month. Two weeks before the client meeting, an invite comes from her daughter's school for a school performance in which her daughter has a lead role. Her daughter really really wants her to come.

What should she do?

What would be in Integrity and why?

Intention and Attention

While I work with an extremely aggressive organization which is system and process driven. The company achieves its targets year on year. While I aspire to become an entrepreneur again, how can I apply this balancing my personal aspirations and also striving towards the goal that company has. Please share your insights.

Great Question, Tanya 💜

Here is an RYD Leadership Depth Gear 1 Distinction: Intention in the future and Attention in the present moment.

The mistake most people make is that their Attention is in the future and Intention becomes a way to feel small about not having it in the present moment.

Our only experience of life is how we are feeling in the moment. By feeling small about the intention not fulfilled in the present moment, we lose our Power to Create™ and mess up both the work we are responsible for in the current moment and the work we want to create in the near future.

Create a 25 Years Vision with your coach - the new future you are creating through your business. What kind of business would it be in 25 years from now? How would it have transformed our country and the world? What would be the size of the impact? Which community's unaddressed needs would it contribute to?

Decide the year you will start your venture.

Till that year, give your heart and soul to your current job to make a massive difference to your current customers (internal and external) by growing across the 3 Growth Levers - Leadership Depth, Craft Mastery and Business Excellence.

You will grow in Leadership Depth by being in Integrity with your current role. You will grow in Craft Mastery by learning across themes which support you to make a bigger difference to your current customers. You will grow in Business Excellence by making a massive positive difference to your current customers at the level they have no right to expect. Your current job would then become a huge training and development program for you to become a successful entrepreneur in the future.

I want to acknowledge you for inspiring our community to do their daily RYD Habits by role-modelling that for all of us, Tanya, and holding yourself to account by taking the support of the community.

Keep learning, integrating and contributing to joyously lead yourself and your business from good to great, realize your dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way 💜

Psychodrama and Enneagram

25/7/2024

Picture

I am deeply grateful to each one of you for being unconditional love and acceptance that made it possible for the protagonist to feel safe enough to do the work he needed to do to begin the process of releasing the darkness trapped inside of him for him to progress on his good to great journey.

Even though there's one protagonist, work happens for each one in the Surplus Reality of the Psychodrama space - whether they are auxiliaries or audience. Each one moves forward on their Good to Great journey, if you allow yourself to be touched by the drama instead of disconnecting yourself which can also show-up sometimes as a self-defence mechanism.

Going within in search of darkness is not a pleasant experience, so 90% of humanity avoids it and is denied the privilege of dissolving the darkness within to step into their undeniable greatness.

Tele is an invisible, unconscious connection that connects human beings. It is Tele which has got all of us together because each one of us wants to travel our Good to Great journey to realize our highest potential and make a massive positive impact in the world through our work.

It is through Tele, the protagonist chooses the right auxiliary for their drama, the specific person in the audience who will most benefit by playing that auxiliary role.

Our emotions are our best friends on our Good to Great journey. They are our Truth Tellers, the Way Show'ers.

Our default response to an uncomfortable emotion is to:
i. Suppress it - This is called Being Brave. - Super Hero Martyrs do this. - Enneagram Style 7, 1, 4 typically use this strategy to protect themselves from feeling the pain of their emotions.

ii. Vomit it on other people - Bring everyone down along with us. - Fighters do this. - Enneagram Style 8, 2, 5 typically use this strategy.

iii. Numb ourselves from feeling it - We don't even know we have an uncomfortable emotion - Avoiders do this - Enneagram Style 9, 3, 6 typically use this strategy.

iv. Give in to it - Victims do this. Each Enneagram style will find themselves here and will use their favourite strategy to get out from being here.

8-9-1 enneagram styles are a Triad called the Body Type. Their primary emotion is Anger, which they need to explore and release.

2-3-4 enneagram styles are a Triad called the Heart Type. Their primary emotion is Shame, which they need to explore and release.

5-6-7 enneagram styles are a Triad called the Mind Type. Their primary emotion is Fear, which they need to explore and release.

Super Hero Martyrs, Fighters, Avoiders, Victims are all expressions of the hole-in-the soul and small mind.

A Peaceful Warrior on the journey from Gear 1 to Gear 5 have another response. They PROCESS the uncomfortable emotion:
i. They acknowledge it exists. Before I could work on Grief, I had to acknowledge it existed. I had to raise my consciousness to become aware of it.

ii. They allow themselves to feel it to release it.

iii. That creates the window for deeper level inner work to dissolve it's source within us (hole-in-the-soul, small-mind) to support us to step into Joyous Freedom.

Psychodrama is a safe space to explore unmentionable, scary emotions so that we can find a pathway to process and release them.

The path of the Peaceful Warrior is difficult because it is the path of going to dark places within that we don't want to go to, dark places within that scare us, dark places within that we don't even know exist. That is outside our comfort zone because we are not in control there and we don't know what will happen. We feel most safe when we are in control. But, our growth lies outside our comfort zone.

It is interesting how some of you heard every word of the journey I took you all to the golden palace. Some of you heard parts of it, some of you heard nothing at all. Some of you took guides, some of you didn't take guides, some of you took guides but didn't ask the guide for support.

Here's my hypothesis for all of you to reflect on - The above was in response to your discomfort of not being in control and the need to be in control.

The journey till Good happens because we are in control, the journey from Good to Great happens when we are comfortable about not being in control:
i. not being in control of the outcome - then can we can dream crazy and play a big game in the face of failures and lack of no agreement from the environment.

ii. not being in control of the direction the journey is progressing - then we necessarily need to raise our consciousness to have childlike trust and faith in the Universe, in the process of life. Childlike trust and faith is available to us in Gear 3. It is different from Surrender in Gear 0, which is usually what religions demand of the devotees.

iii. not being in control of how life shows up - then we can use our limiting circumstances to raise our consciousness by accepting that how we experience people is a mirror of our experience of our own self and transform every breakdown into a breakthrough.

Trust this helps in expanding your understanding of your Good to Great journey, and gives you greater courage and commitment to continue doing your inner work of Leadership Depth, your outer work of Business Excellence and your outer-inner-outer work of Craft Mastery.

Thank you for your love, trust and belief that has each one of you take actions outside of your comfort zones to progress on your Good to Great journey 💜

Loving you,
j.

The Boundary between Good and Great

21/7/2024

Picture

On the journey of transforming the organization from good to great, how do I define the boundary between good and great? Tomorrow's great will be good, the day after. Is transforming from Good to Great a continuous process?

Brilliant Question, Dilli Babu 💜

You absolutely nailed it. Our potential is limitless. The Good to Great journey is an expression of our potential. That makes Good to Great a continuous process and an endless journey of creating massive positive impact through our business as a measure of how much of our potential is realized.

The joy is in the journey. There is nowhere to reach, nothing to prove. Only deep gratitude, joyous fulfilment and divine blissfulness of experiencing growth and being a channel of positive impact every step forward on the Good to Great journey.

Realizing our highest potential enables us to play the game to have it all by dissolving the darkness of fears from our conscious, sub-conscious and unconscious mind for us to live from the light of our undeniable greatness. This journey of inner personal transformation is called Leadership Depth, which is the foundation of the Business Excellence journey of leading our business from good to great.

Let us define what is good and what is great to assess whether it is even worthwhile to be on this journey. A good organization makes profit but struggles to do so, is in the red ocean of bloody waters with competition nibbling at its toes, primary motive is financial survival, does not have any significant impact in the world, employees work half-heartedly and only for their salary. Employee engagement is a huge focus because disengagement is so rampant. Employees don't feel connected with their own selves or with each other or with their leaders. It's stressful to be working and everyone is waiting to hang-up their corporate boots some day to follow their heart, to come alive. There are offsites to discuss mission, strategy, future etc. and everyone uses these as a way to get a breather from the boring routine and nobody remembers anything once they are back at work. Nobody understands what love is or what's that got to do with work. Leadership is bottom-line and top-line focussed. Another word for good is mediocrity and the organization is only leading itself to a certain death sometime in the future.

A great organization is purpose-inspired; significantly and positively impacts human consciousness and evolution; passion, commitment, accountability, self-inspiration and purpose light up the employees who joyously work with their heart, mind and soul; is in the blue ocean, is a market leader running a monopoly  with its nearest competitor miles away; is in an effortless self-sustaining cycle of creativity, innovation and profitability. No employee engagement programs are needed because employees are deeply engaged and connected with their work, with each other and with their leaders. Employees live their purpose of life through their work; leave the day at work feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. There's focus on value-based leadership with leaders creating a space of compassionate love through nurturing, coaching and leading authentically by themselves doing 10 times what they tell their people to do. This results in breakthrough performance, productivity and profitability.

When the leaders in an organization reach Gear 5 of Leadership Depth journey, they lead their business to the above state at Mountain 5 (Mountain of Mastery) of the Business Excellence journey.

Growth is ongoing. Moment we stop growing, we are dying. After climbing the first spiral of growth from Gear 1 to Gear 5 in the Leadership Depth journey, Stage 1 to Stage 5 of the Craft Mastery journey and Mountain 1 to Mountain 5 of the Business Excellence journey, it is time to start climbing the next spiral of growth, then the next, then the next in an endless joyous journey; amplifying the greatness with every spiral of growth by continuously scaling ourselves and our business from good to great in an infinite game of reaching our highest potential.

Keep learning, growing and contributing to joyously lead yourself and your business from good to great, realize your dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way.

The Mindset of a Gear 5 Leader

16/7/2024

Picture

How do we cultivate and sustain the mindset of a Gear 5 leader in everyday operational decisions, particularly when facing urgent short-term challenges that seem at odds with long-term transformative goals?

Sankar, This is a great question 💜

A Gear 5 Leader not only has a very different Mindset, but also a very different Healthset, Energyset, Heartset and Soulset. Our work as a Peaceful Warrior from Gear 0 to Gear 5 is to cultivate and sustain all the five sets to lead ourselves and our business from good to great, realize our dreams and have it all; experiencing beauty, balance and harmony within and all around; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way.

If you reflect deeply, you will realize that urgent short-term challenges are actually stepping stones for achieving long-term transformative goals. They are not at odds with each other.

Business is a spiritual playground for us to grow our consciousness to become Gear 5 Leaders who make a massive positive impact and have it all. Short-term challenges are our training ground to practise growing ourselves to be Gear 5 leaders. We can either regress to Gear 0 Survival or Scarcity or Fear Consciousness to try and solve an urgent short-term problem; or raise our consciousness in the face of breakdowns to grow to Gear 5 Thrival or Abundance or Love Consciousness.

The way to grow to be a Gear 5 Leader is to carve out time daily in our schedule for Leadership Depth Growth Habits; along-side growing in Craft Mastery through Craft Mastery Growth Habits and practising Business Excellence Growth Habits to amplify positive impact. The Good to Great journey is possible and sustainable only with using the 3 Growth Levers – Leadership Depth, Craft Mastery and Business Excellence – together, integrated with each other.

Let’s take an example:

Short-term challenge could be that we are not profitable and long-term transformative goal is to fulfil on our Purpose of contributing to the world through our business.

If we are not profitable, that means we are not contributing to the world. A customer invests in our products and services only if our products and services contributes to their lives. In this case, strengthen yourself in Gear 2 consciousness of Being of Service, learn all you can about your domain through Craft Mastery and use the Business Excellence framework to discover what would most make a difference to the customers which will create a pathway for you to discover a Blue Ocean –
i. a need not fulfilled by the industry as yet
and
ii. is profitable to fulfil because we have discovered what part of the problem the customer is willing to pay us for solving and solution of which part of the problem the customer is not willing to pay for as it does not contribute to them.

If we are not Gear 2 Leaders, we would care more about making money than about the customer’s needs and the challenges that they are facing. When we care more about making money than about the customer, that is the fastest way to kill a business.

Gear 2 Consciousness will also inspire us to learn all we can about the domain to solve our customer’s problems more effectively through Stage 2 of Craft Mastery. Business Excellence on Mountain 2 would support us to build and deliver the product to the customer to create a positive impact in the life of the customer.

As we progress on the Business Excellence journey, short term problems will keep popping up like pop-corn because that is the design of the Good to Great journey. Will we use them to grow our consciousness to move forward to lead ourselves and our business from good to great with ease and grace or struggle like Fighters to build a mediocre business is always a choice available to each one of us.

Keep asking questions with wondrous curiosity to joyously lead yourself and your business from good to great, realize your dreams and have it all with ease and grace; while having lots of fun and adventure along the way.

Loving you,
j.
