It is statistically proven that 20% of the cause gives you 80% effect. It's called Pareto's Principle. That means:
1. 20% of your activities give you 80% results. What you could do - Identify the 20% and do them first thing in the morning. Delegate the next 60%, eliminate the remaining 20% to stop being busy being busy unleashing an abundance of time to invest in nurturing yourself and your family. 2. 20% of your customers give you 80% profit. What you could do - Deepen your relationship with the 20%. Automate the service / product delivery to the next 60%. Eliminate the bottom 20% because they give you 80% of all your troubles. 3. 20% of your employees gives you 80% of your organisation's productivity. What you could do - Nurture your 20% to become future leaders to ultimately replace you. Move 60% to manage automated processes freeing up a lot of humanpower. Re-purpose your freed-up humanpower to create even greater value for your customers, increasing your profitability. Coach the remaining 20% to identify their purpose of life, passion and support them to align their work with that for them to live in the expression of their greatness, either within or outside your organisation. This is how you would have it all - deeply fulfilling successful career, joyful relationships, happy responsible kids and lots of nourishing me-time, which is the only way we are meant to live. Love, Jyoti.

'When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But, it too seemed immovable.
As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it. And now as I lie on my deathbed, I suddenly realize, if I had only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed my family. From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.' - Inscribed on the tombstone of an Anglican Bishop in Westminster Abbey. PS: Every transformation starts with looking at the mirror and finding inside the source of the chaos outside. May I have the courage to do that moment by moment. Love, Jyoti. Entrepreneurs usually build a Taj Mahal with the excitement, energy & investor money that only start-ups know, to find themselves standing outside the gate to sell tickets with no-one purchasing. Early-stage businesses have a very high rate of failure world-wide. Research done by Harvard Business School indicates that 75% of all start-ups fail. And, as per Fortune, that percentage increases to 90% within 5 years.
The biggest reason why early-stage entrepreneurs fail is because one or more of the three basic components of building a great organization is (are) missing: 1. The Science of Entrepreneurship is not understood or not applied correctly, even if understood. 2. Leadership Depth is missing. 3. Focus on Craft Mastery gets lost, while chasing bottom lines. Building a great organization from scratch is a joyous and a deeply-fulfilling journey. The process not only makes a huge difference to the community being served (target audience), but also evolves the person at the helm of this transformation (founder) to the highest level of what it means to be a human being. There are many paths to success but there is only one way to create a great organization and live in the expression of your own greatness. Love, Jyoti. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of god. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of god that is within us. It is not in some of us; it is in everyone. As we make our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson (as quoted by Nelson Mandela) PS: Live in the expression of your greatness and let your light shine through for humanity to break free and ascend to the next level of what it means to be a human being. Love, Jyoti. Instead of criticising, re-stating the criticism as a question is far more productive. You have an engaged employee, child and spouse; with each partnership working powerfully to fulfil 100% of your intentions with velocity. Here are few examples for you to learn how to play this game:
1. Instead of saying 'That's not a realistic plan.' to your employee; what if you say 'How can you make the steps of your plan more tangible and concrete?' 2. To your child, instead of saying 'Stop playing all the time and focus on your studies.'; what if you say 'How can you finish your studies faster so that you have more time to play?' 3. Instead of saying to your spouse, 'You are late again.'; what if you say 'How can we create more time together?' Notice these are all 'How' questions, which tend to be the most useful. Play the game to be the most positive person you know. Soon, you will be looking in the mirror and seeing the happiest person you know. Love, Jyoti. You know you have a profitable business model if customers queue up outside your door to sign-up, instead of you chasing them.
You know you have a repeatable business model, when the entire customer value creation process - from marketing to post-purchase servicing - is following the same process month on month, with the same inputs and the same outputs at each step. You have a scalable business model if your business can function without you. To build a profitable, repeatable, scalable business model; you sure need creativity, perseverance and passion to make a difference to your customer, on one side; and leadership depth, craft mastery and business management excellence, on the other. Entrepreneurship is an opportunity to discover and live in the expression of your highest self. Love, Jyoti. |
