1. Keep it simple to increase the readability of the website otherwise the readers simply move on - one font family, single colour palette around your brand colour, short paragraphs, space between paragraphs, short sentences, bullet points and numbered list instead of long paragraphs to avoid tldr (too long didn't read) effect, sans serif font, use grey instead of black for text. 2. Deeply know your customer and talk to them about what they want, not what you think they want or what you want to give them - 'Fit into your college jeans' phenomenally increased conversion for a fitness coach than her original 'lose weight' conversation on her website. 3. Tell your customers why they should buy from you - In a study, researchers found people tend to agree to your request if you give them a reason. 4. Creative Call-to-Action that help you to connect personally with your customers - 'Call Me' button instead of 'Submit'. Wishing you deeply fulfilling, super success in your business. Love, Jyoti. There is a Blue Ocean for every business waiting to be found, a need not served where you can have the monopoly. Go for that instead of fighting in the Red Ocean of bloody waters and being one amongst many.
Find your niche; in that you will know your purpose of life and an opportunity to make a difference. Discover your purpose of life; in that you will find your niche and an opportunity to be of service. It is when you are everything to everyone in order to earn money that your business continues to limp along to the tune of mediocrity. It is when you decide to commit yourself to a specific community; deepen your understanding of their needs, problems, issues; and work to solve those through your business; does your business truly flourish and create unimagined wealth as a by-product. Your business is an opportunity for you to transform the world and leave your footprints in the sand of time. Love, Jyoti. Entrepreneurs usually build a Taj Mahal with the excitement, energy & investor money that only start-ups know, to find themselves standing outside the gate to sell tickets with no-one purchasing. Early-stage businesses have a very high rate of failure world-wide. Research done by Harvard Business School indicates that 75% of all start-ups fail. And, as per Fortune, that percentage increases to 90% within 5 years.
The biggest reason why early-stage entrepreneurs fail is because one or more of the three basic components of building a great organization is (are) missing: 1. The Science of Entrepreneurship is not understood or not applied correctly, even if understood. 2. Leadership Depth is missing. 3. Focus on Craft Mastery gets lost, while chasing bottom lines. Building a great organization from scratch is a joyous and a deeply-fulfilling journey. The process not only makes a huge difference to the community being served (target audience), but also evolves the person at the helm of this transformation (founder) to the highest level of what it means to be a human being. There are many paths to success but there is only one way to create a great organization and live in the expression of your own greatness. Love, Jyoti. You know you have a profitable business model if customers queue up outside your door to sign-up, instead of you chasing them.
You know you have a repeatable business model, when the entire customer value creation process - from marketing to post-purchase servicing - is following the same process month on month, with the same inputs and the same outputs at each step. You have a scalable business model if your business can function without you. To build a profitable, repeatable, scalable business model; you sure need creativity, perseverance and passion to make a difference to your customer, on one side; and leadership depth, craft mastery and business management excellence, on the other. Entrepreneurship is an opportunity to discover and live in the expression of your highest self. Love, Jyoti. There are essentially 5 mountains that one needs to climb on an entrepreneurial journey. Travelling on this path is hugely fulfilling and transformational, but there are mountains to climb which are pretty steep.
Mountain 1 is what I call the Mountain of Purpose on which you figure out the purpose of your life, your passion and pick up an idea to pursue. If your business is not connected to who you are as a human being, you will never have the energy to climb all those steep mountains to sustainable success. Once you have identified something that you are passionate about, its time to climb Mountain 2 which is what I call the Mountain of Value. Business is really about marrying your purpose, your passion to what's missing in the world. This is where Business Modeling starts and you figure out your Value Proposition. Its an iterative process and you experiment your way forward. Once you have data that proves that you have identified your Value Proposition that people are willing to pay money for, you are ready to scale Mountain 3 which is the Mountain of Growth. It is here where you discover through iterative experiments your repeatable, scalable, profitable business model. Once you find that, you prototype it and automate it. Then you are ready for Mountain 4 or the Mountain of Scale, where you press the accelerator to scale the business by multiplying the automated prototype of your business model. Finally, you are ready for Mountain 5 which is when you step outside the business because your baby (a business is like a baby you are nurturing, by the way) is ready to leave your apron strings and live on its own with professional management. And, you are ready to pick up another passion, another piece of your purpose to fulfil. Alongside this journey, there are two other critical journeys that the entrepreneur needs to take in parallel - that of Leadership Depth and Craft Mastery. Wishing you courage to follow your dreams and passion to keep walking on the path to your highest self & greatest dreams. Love, Jyoti. |
